Popular Chinese Candy Pulled From Local Stores
White Rabbit Candy has been pulled off the shelves at local stores, including Oto’s, earlier this week.
State officials are concerned that candy could contain Melamine.
“It’s just like a candy with edible paper on it,” says an official.
Now, lab results show some candies contain as much as 520 parts per million. That level is unacceptably high, and the California Department of Public Health is warning people not to eat any flavor of the popular Chinese candy.
“It’s been around a long time. People know about it. Kind of sad they had to pull it,” one store owner told CBS13.
